Gift Card Holder

I am going to get a gift card for JA's teacher this year, as his end of year gift. Still trying to decide between Chapters, The Book Depot, Timmy's or Canadian Tire. Thoughts? ;)

I got this fabulous idea from my stampin' friend Roxy who has a great pictorial tutorial of how to make them! They are super easy, and really fun!

Here's mine :) The left photo shows the gift card holder put together, and tied closed. The right side photo shows it open. The gift card would go where the yellow post it note is inserted. In real life the ribbon matches better! LOL!

Stamps: Background Basics (SU!)
ribbon: double stitched grosgrain Wild Wasabi (SU!)
other: sticky strip to hold it all together!

A girly card

I have a card to share. But it's still on the camera, and the kids are outside. JA had a birthday party to attend this afternoon (she's still there!)... and so I whipped up a card :)

I"ll share later, so check back!

Ok, I got it photographed, and loaded and resized!! The first photo is the full card, the 2nd is a closer look at the layers of the crown/scallop circle and ribbon (all popped up!)

A fun SB page

My friend Karen has been bugging me to share this layout of her sweet daughter and my cute son at The Scrapping Nook Gallery, so I did. I also thought I would share it here!

Photobucket

I had such a fun time doing this layout! Karen challenged me to do a 'busy' layout. I have always loved the look of them, but never get to doing them, as my layouts are usually much simpler! :)

I used a mix of stuff for this layout - Wild Aspargus paper and embellishments, paper flowers and buttons from my stash that came with my new bag I got in Florida, thread, SU! cardstock, SU! ink, Cuttlebug die cut circles, SU! wide and narrow grosgrain ribbons, and the SU! Signo Uniball white gel pen. TFL!

Another Boy Card

Why are boys cards so hard?? I have stuff for little boys (see the car card!)... but not for the 9 year olds! So I came up with this one. The little boy's name begins with an R, so why not!? (See, he's still a 'little' boy, but getting older!) JA went to his party (where it was only HER invited, as they went for a FULL Day to Niagara Falls!)... and he LOVED his card, and was especially taken with the way the R was popped up! LOL!

SUPPLIES: All materials Stampin' Up!
cardstock: wild wasabi
Embellishments, sticky die cuts (star), patterned paper: Creative License Simply Scrappin' Kit
other: pop dots, Gelly Roll sparkly pen (altho you can't see them wel on this photo, I outlined the star, and dotted all the little stars on the R with it)

Boy Birthday Cards

I struggle sometimes. LOL It's not too hard for little boys like Zachary tho. So I created this fun little card on Friday afternoon. Zachary had a birthday party to attend (with the whole family!). So I thought I'd share with you all. I was inspired by a card I found at Splitcoaststampers but I tweaked it to make it my own :)
