MDS is so awesome!

I was tinkering around with MDS tonight,a nd made my own blog header!  I have to fix it some, but I wanted to get the feedback.

So, thoughts? I'd love some constructive criticism.  I know the text under Stylin' Stamper needs fixing, but other suggestions?!

Thanks :)

Hope For Haiti!

On January 12, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti, leaving in it's wake devastation so
overwhelming that the Haitian people and their leaders can only look for help from the outside to cope.

To help make a difference in the lives of these who continue to suffer from the effects of this devastating earthquake, Stampin' Up will set aside $2 from the sale of every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set and donate it to the American Red Cross.  The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

Product Name Item # Price

Easel Card - tutorial

My first one!! This will be long and detailed... I hope you find it useful! :)  Please, leave comments on what you think... the format, the details - too many, not enough?  What would you change?  For all the comments I recieve between tonight and Sunday evening, I will put into a RAK for the card I made :)  I know, not a huge prize, but doable :)  And it will be fun mail :)

KUDOS to you who write them frequently!!  I think I might try my hand at a video, but I only have a webcam, so we'll see how that goes :D

Thanks!

Easel Card

Materials
8.5 x 11 cardstock - real red, pretty in pink, soft suede, whisper white
stamps - Love You Much
stampin' dimensionals or pop up glue dots
markers/aqua painter/water colour wonder crayons/water colour pencils
jet black stazon
paper snips
paper piecing tool
mat pack
heart to heart punch

STEP ONE:
Cut your Soft Suede 8.5x11 cardstock into 11 x 4.25 inches
Score at 5.5 inches and fold
crease with bone folder
STEP TWO:
Take the front of your card, score at 2.75 inches and fold it under, creasing with your bonefolder. It should now make a tent with the back of your card.

STEP THREE:
Cut a piece of Soft Suede into 5.5 x 4.25 and adhere to the front of your card using adhesive below the crease only!

STEP FOUR
:
Cut Whisper White into 5.25 x 4.0 and adhere to the inside portion of your card
Cut Pretty In Pink into 5.25 x 4.0
Cut another Whisper White into 5 x 3.75 inches

STEP FIVE:
Stamp "LOVE you much" onto the lower portion of the inside Whisper White in Jet Black Stazon
Colour in the image using markers, or water colour wonder crayons, or water colour pencils.

STEP FIVE A:
Adhere to inside of Soft Suede card.
Stamp big heart from "Love You Much" set in Jet Black Stazon on Real Red, then cut out.

STEP SIX:
Punch out hearts, using Heart to Heart punch, in the middle of your Pretty in Pink cardstock, the Whisper White will cover it up!
Adhere the medium sized heart over the flower on the inside of your card, using HALF a pop up glue dot or a Stampin' Dimensional. This will help to tent the front of your card, creating the easel look.

STEP SEVEN:
Take your 5 x 3.75 whisper white cardstock and using your paper piercing tool and foam mat from the Mat Pack, pierce holes in each corner - 5 across/down, 3 accross/down.

Adhere to pink cardstock.
Adhere Real Red stamped/cut out heart to the centre of your whisper white cardstock
Adhere these layers to the Soft Suede card front
Adhere the pink cardstock to the front of your card

VOILA!! Your card is complete! :)

Vintage Vogue!

I got creating last night, finished up this morning, and am actually posting before I really start the day! :)

So Stampin' Up! has new CLEAR MOUNT BLOCKS and foam backed rubber stamps! I got some before CHristmas, but am only getting to use them now. I LOVE THEM!!! So easy to use, so slim to store!

So I got Vintage Vogue, an I LOVE IT!!

This card is for a friend, just b/c she's wonderful :)

I've seen on many blogs of late, that folks are dressing up the insides of their cards. I never used to do that unless it was black or dark inside, as it's hard to write on. Today, I decided to dress up the inside :) It's not that time consuming as it doesn't have to be a masterpiece, just something to pretty up the inside :)

SUPPLIES:
Stamps: Vintage Vogue from the Occasions Mini - see side bar for link to catalogue!
ink: Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango
Cardstock: Confetti White, Soft Suede
Accessories: misc gold brads, flower brads from SU!, crushed curry polka dot grosgrain ribbon

As a side note, the lady who rec'd yesterday's card LOVED it!! :) AND her first chemo treatment went better than she had expected :)

A Suppotive Card :)

So my friend's Mom found out two months ago, or so, that she has breast cancer. After two surgeries, she's now starting chemo. She has a fantastic attitude about the whole ordeal, but has had an extremely hard year after watching her youngest daughter lose her husband and his battle with brain cancer.

So to lighten the day for her tomorrow, I created this card!

Supplies ALL STAMPIN' UP!:
cardstock: blush blossom
designer series paper: raspberry tart
ink: regal rose, always artichoke
accessories: rose grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' Glitter Chunky sprinkles
stamps: Boho Backgrounds

Have a fabulous day :)

I'm back to scrapping!

So I thought I would share some of my pages from a recent online crop. The challenge was do use at least 3 buttons on a layout. Since my Mom is a collector of buttons, I just happen to have some to use! :)

This was the children's first day back to school this year....er, last year, 2029. The journalling is all around the edge of the shaped cardstock. I bought some shaped cardstock in the last couple of years, and never used it. So now I'm using them as templates! :) I traced this shape and cut it out, and voila, my own colour in the shape I want :)

supplies:
patterned paper: Heidi Grace
cardstock: Stampin' Up! - something retired!
buttons: Mom's collection
marker: Stampin' Up! black journalling marker - LOVE IT!!!
